James is a keyboard whiz, writer, composer, producer, not to mention one of the greatest musicians I have ever had the pleasure of working with. His sounds emanate from his studio in northeast Houston as James and his friends have one CD out entitled "God is cool", and another just out in November 2006 entitled "A Smooth Jazz Christmas". HIS By Grace is a four voice vocal group that sings tight harmonies in Southern Gospel / Country style. They sing many of their songs a cappella and personally those are the song that I wait for in their performance. All I can say is that if you can sit through one of their shows and not clap your hands or stomp your feet, you better go see a doctor because their is something wrong with your ears. I cannot sing their praises loud enough, they are that good. So if you ever are in or around Baton Rouge check their page to see if they are playing somewhere nearby and go and see them. It will be a real blessing for you.
Karen Grant is a Jazz style vocalist who performs in and around the New Orleans area. She has performed at Music with a Message many times and has always been a super performer. Her songs contain a message that cannot be denied and she delivers that message is such a sweet sweet voice. If you are in the New Orleans area it will be hard to find a weekend when she is not performing somewhere. Check her website and treat yourself to an evening with Karen.
This is a great bunch of people who love the Lord and He is definitely blessing their efforts to reach the community. Pastored by Steve Folmar, their goal is to impact the community for Christ. They have a great praise team called "First Praise" headed up by Minister of Music, Chris Antill. I know how good they are because I have played with them frequently and believe me, they rock!!
